Privacy Policy

What Spron collects, how we use it, who we share it with, and how to get it deleted.

1. Who we are

Spron is a service of Comet Unit, LLC (“Spron”, “we”, “us”). This policy explains what personal data we collect when you visit spron.ai or use the Spron app at app.spron.ai (together, the “Service”), how we use it, and the choices you have.

2. Data we collect on this website

  • Site checks. Our free check asks for your website address. We read two public files on that site (robots.txt and sitemap.xml) to count your pages. The result is held in memory for about 10 minutes, then it is gone. You do not need an account.
  • Email address. If you give us your email address on this website, we store it so we can contact you.
  • Traffic stats. We count page views, referrer, country, and browser with Umami on our own server, and with PostHog. Neither sets cookies or stores anything on your device.
  • Support chat. The Crisp chat loads only when you click the chat button. Crisp then processes the messages you send and the basic technical details needed to run the chat.
  • Videos. Our product video plays from YouTube only after you press play. YouTube then handles that data under its own privacy policy.
  • No advertising tracking. This website does not use advertising pixels or advertising cookies. If you arrive from one of our ads, the ad click ID and campaign tags in the link are passed to the sign-up page.
  • Server logs. Our server records IP address, browser type, and request times.

3. Data we collect in the Spron app

Data you give us

  • Account data. Your email address. If you sign in with Google, we also receive your name and profile picture from Google. We never see your Google password.
  • Team data. The email addresses of people you invite to your workspace, and their roles.
  • Site and brand data. Your website address, target market, language, brand description, brand voice, offers, colors, logo, and images you upload.
  • Content. Keywords, articles, edits, article versions, free tools you build, and messages you send to the AI assistant.
  • Connection data. API keys, access tokens, and addresses for the platforms you connect, such as WordPress, Shopify, Webflow, Wix, Framer, Ghost, Notion, Strapi, or your own webhook.
  • Billing data. Stripe processes your payment. We receive your plan, subscription status, and payment records. We do not receive or store your full card number.
  • Messages. Emails and support requests you send us.

Data we collect automatically

  • Usage data. Which screens and features you use, and when. During setup we record which step you are on and how long each step takes. We do not record what you type into forms for this purpose.
  • Technical data. IP address, browser type, device type, and request times in our server logs.
  • Advertising data. From the sign-up page onward, the app may use the Meta Pixel and Meta’s Conversions API to measure our ads and to show Spron ads on Facebook and Instagram to people who started signing up. This includes the ad click ID, the pages and steps you reach, your IP address, browser and device details, and a scrambled (hashed) copy of your email address. See section 7 for your choices.
  • Error reports. When something breaks, we record the error type and where it happened in our code. We remove your content, request data, and cookies from these reports.

Data from other sources

  • Your public website. We read public pages of the site you add, so we can learn about your business and write for it.
  • Public search data. We collect search results, keyword numbers, and public pages of other sites to research your topics. This is not personal data about you.
  • Connected platforms. When you connect a platform, it tells us if an article was published and where.

Do not put sensitive personal data, such as health or financial details about other people, into the Service.

4. How we use your data

  • Create and secure your account, and sign you in.
  • Research topics, write articles, create images, and publish content to the platforms you connect.
  • Process payments and manage your subscription.
  • Answer your questions and give support.
  • Send you emails about your account, such as sign-in codes, billing notices, and trial reminders.
  • Send you product news. Every such email has an unsubscribe link.
  • Measure how our ads perform, and show Spron ads to people who started signing up for the app.
  • Find and fix errors, prevent abuse and fraud, and improve the Service.
  • Meet our legal, tax, and accounting duties.

If you are in the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom, our legal bases are: performing our contract with you, our legitimate interest in running and securing the Service, your consent where we ask for it, and our legal obligations.

5. AI processing

Spron uses AI models from other companies to write articles, create images, and answer questions. To do this, we send them the content needed for the task, such as your brand description, keywords, and article text.

  • We do not use your content to train AI models.
  • We send your content to AI providers only to produce your results.
  • AI output can be wrong or incomplete. Check each article before you publish it.
  • We do not make decisions about you that have legal or similar effects by automated means alone.

6. How we share your data

We do not sell your personal data for money. We share limited sign-up and app activity data with Meta to show and measure our own ads, as described in section 7. We never share your account content, articles, or connection keys for advertising. We share personal data only with:

  • Service providers that help us run Spron:
    • Supabase — database and sign-in (Germany)
    • Hetzner — website and app hosting (Germany)
    • Trigger.dev — background jobs
    • Stripe — payments
    • Google — sign-in, AI models, and Google Sheets for email addresses collected on this website
    • OpenAI and OpenRouter — AI models
    • DataForSEO — search data and reading public web pages
    • Tinify — image compression
    • Sentry — error reports (EU)
    • Umami (hosted by us) and PostHog — website traffic stats
    • Crisp — website support chat
    • Meta — advertising and ad measurement in the app
    • YouTube — product video, after you press play
    • Email delivery providers — account and service emails
  • Platforms you connect. When you publish, we send your article and its images to the platform you chose. That platform handles the data under its own privacy policy.
  • Your team. People in your workspace can see the workspace’s sites, content, and member list.
  • Authorities and legal needs. When the law requires it, or to protect the rights, safety, or property of Spron, our users, or others.
  • Business transfers. If Spron is involved in a merger, sale, or financing, personal data may move to the other party under confidentiality terms.

7. Cookies

This website (spron.ai) sets no cookies and stores nothing on your device, unless you start the support chat or play the video. The app uses three kinds of cookies and similar tools:

  • Necessary. The Spron app uses cookies and browser storage to keep you signed in, to remember where you are in setup, and to keep your account secure. If you start the support chat, it stores what it needs to keep your conversation. These cannot be turned off.
  • Traffic stats. Umami and PostHog count visits. They set no cookies and store nothing on your device.
  • Advertising. In the app, from the sign-up page onward, the Meta Pixel sets cookies so we can measure our ads and show Spron ads on Facebook and Instagram to people who started signing up. Meta handles this data under its own privacy policy.

Your choices.

  • Where the law requires it, such as in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, Switzerland, and Türkiye, we load advertising cookies only after you accept them. You can change your choice at any time.
  • Everywhere else, you can opt out of advertising cookies at any time by emailing [email protected].
  • If your browser sends a Global Privacy Control signal, we treat it as an opt-out.
  • You can also control ads in your Facebook and Instagram ad settings, and block or delete cookies in your browser.

Saying no to advertising cookies does not change how Spron works for you. If you block the app’s necessary cookies, you cannot sign in.

8. Where your data is stored

Comet Unit, LLC is based in the United States. Our main database and servers are in Germany. Some of our service providers process data in the United States and other countries. When we move personal data out of the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, or Switzerland, we rely on legal safeguards such as the European Commission’s Standard Contractual Clauses.

9. How long we keep your data

  • Site checks on this website are kept in memory for about 10 minutes.
  • We keep email addresses you gave us on this website until you ask us to delete them.
  • We keep account, site, and content data while your account is open.
  • When you delete a site in the app, we delete its content and research data.
  • When you ask us to delete your data, we delete or anonymize it within 30 days, except data we must keep by law.
  • We keep billing and tax records for as long as the law requires.
  • Backups and logs may keep data for a short time after deletion.

10. Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to:

  • Get a copy of the personal data we hold about you.
  • Correct data that is wrong or incomplete.
  • Delete your data.
  • Limit or object to how we use your data.
  • Receive your data in a format you can move to another service.
  • Withdraw consent you gave us.
  • Complain to your local data protection authority.

To use these rights, email [email protected]. We reply within 30 days. We may ask you to confirm your identity first. We will not treat you differently for using your rights.

California residents. You have the right to know, delete, and correct your personal information. We do not sell your personal information for money. Showing our ads through Meta to people who started signing up may count as “sharing” under California law. You can opt out as described in section 7, and we will not treat you differently for doing so.

11. Security

We protect your data with encryption in transit, access controls, and server-side storage of connection keys. Each account can only reach its own workspace data. No system is fully secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security. If a breach affects your personal data, we will tell you as the law requires.

12. Children

Spron is for businesses. It is not for anyone under 18, and we do not knowingly collect data from children. If you think a child gave us personal data, email [email protected] and we will delete it.

13. Links to other sites

Spron may link to sites and services we do not control. Their privacy policies apply to them, not this one.

14. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy. We will post the new version on this page and change the date at the top. If a change is important, we will also tell you by email or in the app before it takes effect.
