The Spron plugin adds its own Articles collection to Strapi 5. It receives articles and saves their images in your media library.
Install the plugin
Run this command in your Strapi project:
npm install @spron/strapi-plugin
Rebuild and restart Strapi using your project's normal commands.
Connect from Strapi
- In Strapi, open Settings → Spron.
- Check the public address of your Strapi server.
- Press Connect to Spron.
- In Spron, choose the correct site and allow the connection as an owner or admin.
- Return to Strapi and check the connection.
Your Strapi server must be reachable from the internet. In this connection flow, there is no key to copy by hand.
Where the fields go
| Spron value | Plugin field |
|---|---|
| article.id | spronId |
| article.title | title |
| Article body | content |
| article.meta_description | metaDescription |
| article.featured_image | featuredImage, stored in the media library |
| Article images | images, stored in the media library |
| article.structured_data | structuredData |
The plugin handles these fields itself. It does not write to your existing custom collections.
Show the articles on your website
Your frontend must read and display the plugin's Articles collection. A saved Strapi entry does not create a page on your website by itself.
The plugin publishes the CMS entry. Your frontend decides its public route and how it is displayed. Check the public page separately; a CMS entry being published is not proof that a public page exists.
If you need Spron articles in an existing custom collection, have a developer build a receiver for that schema. See Connect a custom website.
Update an article
Press Republish in Spron to update the same plugin entry. Its spronId stays the same. Direct edits in the entry can be replaced.
