Publish and republish an article

Understand what saving and publishing do.

SWritten by Spron TeamUpdated October 14, 2026

Saving an edit keeps it in Spron. Publishing sends an article to a connected destination.

Send one article

Open the ready article and review its title, text and images. Check the active connections for this site before pressing Publish.

An active connection can also receive new ready articles automatically. The Publish button is not a universal approval gate for every automatic delivery. If you need every post reviewed first, use a destination that supports drafts, or keep the publishing connection off while you review.

Send an edit

Make your changes in Spron and wait for them to save. Press Republish to send the latest saved version.

For integrations that update posts, the existing destination ID is used. A custom receiver or Zap must also implement create-or-update using the permanent Spron article ID.

Republishing may replace changes made directly in your CMS. Make changes in Spron when you want them included in future deliveries.

Send older ready articles

Use the send-pending action on the connection. Its confirmation shows how many ready articles may be sent.

This is a connection-level action. It can send several articles, so check the destination before continuing.

Check the destination

Use Delivery history to check the result. Then open the destination page or CMS entry. Sent, saved and publicly published mean different things; see Read delivery history.
